From Training to Set: Where IMA Graduates Are Working in 2026 So Far

At The Iver Makeup Academy, our mission is simple: train makeup artists who are ready to work professionally from day one. What sets our graduates apart is not just the technical skill, but the breadth of experience they gain – experience that allows them to step onto high profile film and TV sets and make an immediate impact.

2026 has already kickstarted to be a great year for IMA alumni and tutors. With recent releases such as Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man, Project Hail Mary, The Magic Faraway Tree and Wuthering Heights to upcoming productions such as Supergirl, Avengers: Doomsday, Narnia: The Magicians Nephew, Practical Magic 2, Clayface, Ebenezer: A Christmas Carol and Werwulf – we have an exciting year ahead!

On these sets , graduates have applied their skills in:

SFX & Prosthetics: Creating realistic injuries, creatures and character transformations that hold up under close-up scrutiny. Projects like Clayface and and Supergirl have pushed graduates to combine art with knowledge.

Period & Character: From the gothic drama of Wuthering Heights to the magical realms of Narnia, graduates have designed authentic looks that bring characters to life through the screen and maintain continuity across long shoots. Working in unison with other departments such as costume, props and set design.

High volume & face paced application: Working on productions like Avengers: Doomsday and Supergirl, graduates and tutors manage large cast numbers under tight schedules, ensuring quality and consistency for each character.

This variety of experience demonstrates the depth of training at IMA. Graduates aren’t limited to a single niche; they are prepared to take on multiple responsibilities, adapting to different genres of production needs.

IMA Tutors, all who have extensive experience on the same types of productions, play a crucial role in preparing students for real-world challenges- even after the students have graduated! They ensure mentoring with

  • On-set workflow and professional standards
  • Collaboration with directors, costume departments and VFX departments
  • Problem solving in high pressure environments

This combination of practical experience and guidance ensures graduates leave IMA confident, capable and employable.

IMA graduates and tutors are applying their skills across a wide range of productions, from fantasy and period dramas to major blockbusters. Their work on projects like Supergirl, Project Hail Mary and Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man demonstrates their technical expertise, versatility, and reliability on set. These graduates are not only building impressive portfolios but are also establishing themselves as trusted professionals within the film and TV industry.
