Jess Heath

PROSTHETICS MAKEUP ARTIST

Jess Heath is a prosthetic artist who has worked in Film and TV since 2007, starting out during her degree in Model Design and Special Effects. Jess began self taught, working mainly as a SFX artist on low budget horror films. She eventually went on to study Hair and Makeup for Film and TV at Greasepaint Makeup School in 2012 to expand her skills.

After Greasepaint, Jess dived back into the world of low budget horror, designing a number of films for a few years before becoming a daily artist on bigger productions in crowd rooms and main teams. Gradually she moved away from straight hair and makeup and solely into prosthetics which was always her passion, working both on set and in workshops.  Some of her favourite projects she’s worked on include ‘In the Earth’, ‘Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania’ and ‘Cursed’ for the creativity they brought.

During covid Jess set up an online prosthetic business called JessFX, she supplies off the shelf, generic prosthetics through her website, several professional makeup shops and directly to productions such as ‘Trigger Point’, ‘The Winter King’, ‘Andor’ and ‘The Man Who Fell to Earth’ to name a few.

In a full circle moment, Jess has also been teaching on sfx and prosthetic modules at The Iver Academy since 2017 alongside the artists that once trained her back at Greasepaint.
