I want to thank you for a truly brilliant course. The standard of lecturing was superb and I made some really great friends too. The tutors were fantastic and extremely supportive all the way through and upon leaving. Since graduating, I was very fortunate to land a full time hair/make-up trainee role on the set of Avengers 2. This is all thanks to the tutors work connections and recommendations. I felt confident in the role from all the skills I acquired during my training.

What drew me to the Iver Make-up Academy, was not only the curriculum but the fact that all of the tutors have had extensive careers in the industry and are still active makeup and hair artists.

Each one is carefully selected for their incredible skill-set and their endless capacity to support and nurture. It is refreshing to be around extremely accomplished and talented individuals who wish to impart their knowledge and wisdom. Studying there is a rare opportunity to learn from the best!

The on-going support I receive is phenomenal. I have spoken to many other artists in the industry who trained elsewhere, and they receive little or no help after completing their course. I still feel I can call up, or pop in to ask for help and advice – without fail, it is given with enthusiasm and care.

Training under Iver Make-up Academy tutors – the best decision I have ever made! It was a big decision to change career but from the first time I visited on open day I knew it was definitely the right one and I could not wait to start. Having active industry based Make-Up Artists and Designers as our tutors meant we were taught the most up to date techniques in a professional and friendly environment as well as benefiting from their wealth of knowledge, skill and experience.

The course content is fantastic covering a wide range of skills and the learning atmosphere is kind, supportive and encouraging. To be taught by these tutors was a privilege and truly inspiring. Having an in house agency means there are lots of opportunities to gain invaluable ‘on the job’ experience and practice your new skills.

Having completed the 15 week make-up and hair course for theatre, TV and film with airbrushing, I was so incredibly fortunate to be offered the opportunity by one of my tutors from the course to become her crowd trainee on a feature film in which she was the crowd supervisor. This was the most amazing and invaluable experience offering me a fantastic opportunity for continued learning and an incredible insight into the industry.

I cannot thank them enough for the training, contacts and opportunities that have arisen from doing the course. I have so much respect and thanks to all of the tutors who made the course what it is, some of which I am proud to say I have been lucky enough to work with. Thank you!

I began training at The Iver Make-up Academy in April 2016, and for the following 7 months began to learn the essentials about the industry, taught by incredible tutors who, importantly, are all current working make up artists.

Since graduating in November 2016 I have been working on various projects, focused mainly in TV & film, including daily trainee work in big crowd rooms. Recently I have been fortunate enough to have got the role of Main Team Trainee on a major Disney film.

The Iver Make-up Academy have helped massively to get many of my past jobs, gain invaluable contacts and are the reason I am on my current job now.

After attending the open day, witnessing the passion towards their work and to share their expertise amongst all the tutors and staff was clear to see, it was inspiring. That’s when I knew this was the right school for me and I haven’t regretted my decision since. Throughout my training I not only learnt valuable practical skills to develop as a professional hair and make-up artist, I gained an understanding in the importance of discipline and having the right attitude towards work. This really helped prepare me for the world in the industry outside of Iver.

Most importantly, you are not forgotten once you graduate! Iver Academy really takes pride in helping their students fulfil their true potential and will always be there to support you. The Iver Make-up Academy has opened doors of opportunity for me and I will always be grateful.

However, the most valuable part of The Iver Make-up Academy is the tutors and staff. Everyone is so friendly and helpful and the tutors really are the best of the best and impart their wisdom in a way that made me feel confident in my abilities and my future after Iver.

The care doesn’t stop when you leave, as well as the agency which is great, the staff and tutors also recommend students for some great jobs (including my current trainee role on a feature film!).

I really can’t recommend Iver enough, it is an amazing school where you learn so much and make friends for life. In my opinion it really is the best way to start your career in Hair and Make-Up.

I would like to say thank you to The Iver. The tutors and industry experts have helped shape and form the hair and makeup artist I am today. The Iver Academy created a nurturing and supportive space. Aside from the artistry skills, I have learnt the valuable lessons from them of how to manage a work/life balance,, and I am forever grateful for that. Also, meeting fellow graduates on jobs today is such a joy as we have all shared similar experiences.

The training I received, both practical and theoretical, has proved time and time again to be a solid foundation on which to build my skills.

I don’t think I’ve ever been in a working situation where what’s being asked of me hadn’t been covered at IMA. Whenever I’m having trouble I still get out my notes from the course.
It’s been great to know that Tamsin and Liz are just an email or call away with advice or even just to touch base!
