The Iver Makeup Academy Join Forces With Industry Experts
Saturday, May 12, 2018
Our Principal Liz has been working busily behind-the-scenes to organise a brand-new Prosthetics module for Iver students. From this January, some renowned industry experts have taken over the teaching of the module which was specially designed by its director and award-winning special effects artist, Neill Gorton.
These experts are at the forefront of the industry, with in-depth knowledge of the latest techniques and materials. We can’t wait for students to learn from world-renown specialists!
Their combined experience of working on Hollywood blockbusters and cult TV-shows is unmatchable.
Last month, teachers came to the academy to show off their skills. Students got stuck-in creating amazing looks using prosthetics and special effects makeup.
Our amazing models were transformed into monsters and more. And students got to try out a range of techniques including lifecasting, mould making, and application.
There was a strong focus on looking at up-to-date industry techniques for prosthetics and special effects makeup.
Here are just a couple of creations:
Liz Tagg, Principal at The Iver Makeup Academy said:
“We’ve been working on this collaboration for a while, and I’m really excited that these industry experts will be taking over the delivery of our Further Prosthetics module.
Our students will really benefit from the knowledge and experience that they will bring. Being taught first-hand by a pioneer of the industry will be invaluable.”
