STEPHANIE FRANKHAM
Started down the route of make up, hair and prosthetics a bit later than some. I have always had an artistic drive but never found the right industry to fit into. I have a background in tattooing and tattoo design. I enjoy to draw in my down time. I am extremely sociable, empathetic, hard working and punctual. I enjoy working within a team of people being as helpful as possible and thinking outside the box. I also enjoy the focus of working alone and using my initiative, problem solving and improvising well when needed. I was introduced to this industry by a friend and have been enthusiastic about it ever since. I have enjoyed everything I have seen and learnt so far at the Iver Academy and excited to continue growing my knowledge and skills, also attending an extended class for prosthetics.
Work Experience
NOV 2020 Junior MUA working with Designer Elizabeth Hart (4 weeks) full time on feature film “Rise of the Footsoldier The Tony Tucker Story”. Responsible for applying the second lead actors wig and makeup for the duration of the shoot and derig, freehand tattoo design and application, general hair and makeup on other key actors and SA’s, tattoo cover up and assisting the Designer with Prosthetic applications.
Sept 2020 lead MUA on student film for NFTS “When She Was Good. Responsible for the lead actor and sharing makeup application with one other MUA on the team. Included SFX on lead actor and Facial Hair application on one actor.
Attended the set of The Tuckers for the BBC for a few days, set in cardiff to get insight into the industry, watch and speak with make up artists on set, watch rehearsals, wigs and prosthetic pieces. This gave me a great understanding of starting times, the long hours and how days tend to run. I was also able to be there to help pack up the make up room which gave me insight into how much equipment can be needed and how much team work is important within the make up team alone.
Before entering the industry I was working in the tattoo industry and still do when possible.
Employed by both the metropolitan police as a special constable and worked as a 999 operator for both the met and Hertfordshire police for approximately 7 years.
I have worked, in a school and construction businesses taking on the role of administration.
