Isabelle Louise James

At 19 years old, I am a dedicated makeup artist and recent graduate of The Iver Makeup Academy, where I trained under leading specialists in TV, film, theatre, and fashion. Alongside my studies, I gained valuable experience by working on external projects, including assisting on a Netflix production and providing makeup services at Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre, as well as participating as a hair and makeup artist in various events and charities. Additionally, my background as a black belt martial artist in Taekwondo has instilled in me discipline, resilience, and a strong work ethic—qualities I bring to every professional environment.

Work Experience

The Iver Makeup Academy, Open day| Pinewood Studios 26/04/25
I created a Victorian-era look on a male model, inspired by the show A Thousand Blows. Since the show features boxing, I styled the character to appear beaten up, as if he had just come out of a fistfight.

I assisted in preparing the makeup bus for the upcoming festival, ensuring it was fully equipped and prepped. Furthermore representing The Iver Makeup Academy, I modelled a dirtied down SFX look for public members to see.

I created a period 1950’s makeup and hair look inspired by the iconic Elizabeth Taylor whilst also sharing information to visitors about my experience as one of the students at the Iver.

Netflix Ladies First| Shepperton Studios 17/01/25

Main team trainee
I was main team trainee for the last day of shooting, helping to cater and support the makeup artists whilst also packing away, organising, and clearing up in the trailer.

FacePainting & SFX| Shakespeares Globe Theatre, London 26/10/24
Myself and two other Iver Makeup Academy students worked as a team and set up a makeup station within the Globe Theatre. We showcased our face painting skills on each other whilst applying silicone DAPS on the public sharing information about the makeup industry and how WHAM works within theatre.

Children’s Face painting| Windsor memorial hall 17/06/2024
I collaborated with professional face painter Vanessa D’Souza to deliver 15+ and detailed face paints in a high-energy, fast paste children’s party setting.

Halloween Fundraiser| Windsor Electric Garden 29/10/23
Assisted with makeup artist Vanessa D’Souza, creating SFX makeup looks for a Halloween charity fundraiser, including a broken nose and shot vampire.
