Are you passionate about becoming a Makeup and Hair Artist for Film, TV, Theatre and Fashion but concerned about the costs? The Iver Makeup Academy, renowned for its industry-focused training, offers excellent opportunities to kickstart your career. With some savvy strategies, you can pursue your dream without breaking the bank. Here’s how:

Choose the Right Course at IMA

The Iver Makeup Academy offers various courses, from short workshops to comprehensive advanced certificates. Identify the course that best aligns with your career goals and financial situation. Shorter courses or specialised workshops can be more affordable while still providing valuable skills and networking opportunities. Our new 15 Week Industry Ready Certificate is the perfect way to get into the industry as a trainee.

We always recommend having a 1-1 talk with us about what course would be best suited to you.

Apply for Scholarships, Bursaries and Grants

The Iver Makeup Academy provides details about available scholarships and bursaries for talented students in need of financial assistance. Check our website or contact the admissions office to learn about available financial aid options and application requirements.

BAFTA Scholarship

To be eligible for the bursary which is up to a maximum of £10,000. You first need to be offered a place on our advanced course.

IMA BURSARY

The Award is up to 80% of the full fee.

The IMA Bursary reopens November 2024 and will be accepting applications from then.

Gain Experience While Earning

Consider part-time work in related fields to support your education financially and gain practical experience. Working at a beauty counter, in a salon, or freelancing as a makeup artist can help you earn while you learn. Offer discounted services to friends and family to build your portfolio and reputation.

Utilize Free Resources

Supplement your Iver training with free resources to expand your knowledge and skills:

  • Networking: Attend industry events, join beauty forums, and engage with professionals on social media. Networking can lead to mentorship and valuable opportunities whilst training.

Maximize Practice Opportunities at Iver

Make the most of the hands-on training and assignments provided at The Iver Makeup Academy. Practicing diligently on every project will enhance your skills and broaden your knowledge. Take advantage of any free workshops or practice sessions offered by the academy.

Create a Detailed Budget

Draft a comprehensive budget covering tuition, materials, transportation, and living expenses. Look for ways to cut non-essential costs and stick to your budget. Consider shared accommodations or public transportation to save money.

We would be more than happy to send you our accommodation list which most of our students use whilst studying. You will also have the chance to network with other students on your course before your start date to make potential house shares more accessible. We also offer a free shuttle bus service running from multiple train stations in the area (Uxbridge Station, Slough Station, Gerrards Cross Station & West Ruislip Station).

Enquire About Payment Plans

The Iver Makeup Academy offer interest free payment plans to help manage tuition fees. Spreading out payments can make the financial commitment more manageable.
